MERRIAM, KS
Candidate for Merriam City Council - Ward One
Design and community oriented and committed to representing you.
VOTE November 02
About Me
My name is Jacob Laha and I am running to represent Ward One on the Merriam City Council.
My wife, Laura Beth, and I bought our first house together in Merriam five years ago. Three years later, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Ridley Lynn. We chose to grow our family in Merriam because we love the people and the community; and we are grateful every day to call Merriam home.
I want to invest in this city and contribute to its continued health and growth. I believe current times afford great opportunity for thoughtful and strategic business development and community improvement to sustain our population and attract new businesses and residents.

QualificationsI was born and raised in Clearwater, KS, to lifelong educators. I earned my Masters of Architecture degree at Kansas State University and am working presently as a licensed architect.
My skills and experience as an architect make me well suited to serve on city council. I work on projects of all scales with a diverse client group. I know that the key to a successful project is delivering on time, within budget, and meeting as many needs as possible. |
My role requires that I listen well, solve problems with an open mind, and negotiate varying perspectives and desires. I believe that my experience as an architect, using creative thinking to solve problems in unique ways that aren’t always evident at the onset, will make me a productive and important addition to the Merriam City Council.
